Wedding Bands Cornwall: Penzance

Wedding Bands Cornwall and Penzance Astro Park.

We had never played the Astro Park in Penzance until we got asked to perform at a wedding earlier this year.

The venue is a multi purpose venue with a strong hockey community.

The bride was in fact a pretty serious hockey player and of course the brides maids also seems to be teammates and all were totally enjoying dancing fabulously.

For this particular wedding in Penzance we played two funky / disco music dance sets.

The first set was a great time for the guests to warm up and actually were all dancing right from the start.

We took a short break and got stuck into some delicious pasties.

Yes, we are hungry musicians.

So the second set was full of classic party songs.

We played for well over 2 hours in total and its often a shame to end the party as we just thrive off everyone dancing.

Seeing all the funky moves makes us dig in deeper and really get off on the vibe.

After finishing our second set we also provided DJ services where we kept the music going well into the early hours.

Band Wedding Cornwall: Crasken Eco Centre

Band Wedding Cornwall played Crasken Eco Centre.

Back in the summer we played at a wedding venue known as Crasken Eco Centre, which is near Helston, Cornwall.

Tucked away in what seems the middle of nowhere, this converted farm/barn complex gives the impression of going back in time, in a very good way.

The wedding venue is a gold mine for those wanting the rustic realism that comes with such a majestic “old school” venue.

In the beautiful courtyard area there is a covered outside bar area and a hog roast.

The log fire is also fabulous also for toasting marshmallows during the small hours. It felt like we were also on a mini break ourselves!

And the wedding catering was immense! Hungry musicians just love good wedding catering, it’s always a good bonus for us.

Yes, do feed us if you hire us. 🙂

The band plays on the first floor of one of the converted barns, on a stage, which is always a pleasure. So often we can be put on the floor, but a stage really does set the party off very well indeed. It becomes like a proper gig, and the couple that hired us for this wedding were certainly music lovers and wanted that gig vibe for the party.

We highly recommend this venue for your wedding party.

It really is rustic and real, for those that love the artisan lifestyle and mind set and want to avoid the glitzy pizzazz of some other venues.

Wedding Band Cornwall: Disco And Funk Music

When asked to play a wedding in Carbis Bay Hotel we were delighted.

The Carbis Bay Hotel is a magnificent location over looking the majestic bay itself.

We’ve visited the hotel many times before and always love entertaining weddings and parties at the venue.

The stage area is really wide and affords tons of dance floor space for the guests to party on through the night.

We’ve done two sets and just the one set where we start and just play right on through the night.

The last time we played there we also provided music before and after our sets by way of a Spotify playlist, which kept everyone dancing after we had finished playing.

Birthday Party Falmouth Funked Up

The Birthday Party Falmouth at the Watersports Centre was a fabulous gig.

We entertained at this 40th birthday party in Falmouth for around 100 guests.

The Watersports Centre is well suited for birthday party band bands in Falmouth with about the same space found at Scorrier House, near Redruth.

We had lots of space to setup and the staff were helpful, for access there is parking and also a ramp which can be handy for heavy equipment.

As soon as the PA was set up we played a Spotify playlist through the system and saw people already enjoying the background music.

We started the show at 8:45 playing our first set until 9:30, when food arrived.

By the time we started our second set at 10:00 there was no holding the dancing back. The guests were immediately up and going crazy, bopping and enjoying the birthday party band and relishing in each and every song.

When it came time to finish, after singing happy birthday for the birthday girl, we got asked to play even more..

Of course we didn’t disappoint and kept on going well over an hour because seeing such enjoyment makes us smile and we really do feed off that as a band.

Cornwall Wedding Band Funks Up Scorrier House

What a fabulous evening it was for the Cornwall Wedding Band..

Scorrier House in Cornwall, near Redruth, is a wedding and private hire venue.

Scorrier House has been on the scene for a long time.

Some of us have played here many times before in various different function bands over the years.

Scorrier House is a great wedding venue for lots of reasons not least is that it’s so grand with stately history, going back years and years.

The room where the band set up is well suited for a wedding band.

There is rear access and the band can set up without disturbing the guests during their dining experience.

We can carry our band equipment in easily and set up without disturbing the wedding party itself.

There is ample room in the function room for a band and a DJ.

In fact when we played at Scorrier House in 2017 the wedding DJ set up behind us. This was great because when we were packing up our band instruments and PA equipment, the DJ could start immediately. This kept the party going smoothly.

The outcome was fabulous, the wedding guests were dancing all night long and a fabulous time was had with the event going off with a bang! With a wedding set designed to make people dance, it was job done.

Being hungry musicians we also took advantage of the amazing food available after we had finished our party music, the scotch eggs were delightful and most of us ate far more than necessary, but hey, you have to partake in such delights, right?
